Aluminum Oxide Grit- Traditional drywall sandpaper uses sharp edged silicon carbide abrasive that starts out cutting hard, but doesn't wear evenly. Joest Drywall Sanding Discs utilize Aluminum Oxide grit that is rounded (instead of jagged), and wears uniformly.
